Hope everyone can visit me, Lily Claire and Willie T. and see what all the excitement is about. http://www.sweetmusiconmoonlightridge.blogspot.com/

Just 2 nights ago I had a visit from The Great White Possum; no kidding, there he was, in all his beauty, on my front porch ... eating cat food. He was very large and beautiful with white face and head, and pale grey body. When I walked out onto the porch, he stopped eating and quietly observed me for about one minute. then he casually continued eating, CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH! I hope I'll have a chance to snap his picture next time he visits so I can feature him on the Moonlight Ridge blog.

Best wishes,
Ramey ChannellRamey Channellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03340802949382192661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27682516.post-7731987072909836202010-08-30T16:41:25.748-04:002010-08-30T16:41:25.748-04:00Little PITA is so sweet! I love the pictures. I on...Little PITA is so sweet! I love the pictures. I only have outdoor possums at my house; they eat cat food, often while the cats sit close-by looking disgusted. I had one big black tomcat who liked to pop the possums on top of their heads, but the possums just kept eating as if nothing could bother them.

The possum in the picture with me is named Winston, and he lives in a wildlife rescue center near my home. I have wished I could have a baby possum, but I work full time and am afraid I couldn't take care of it properly. Maybe someday.

My personal interest in possums began when my youngest daughter was born; 1979. As soon as I saw her, I said 'Oh, she looks just like a baby possum." So we called her Possum for the first few years until she started to school. From that time on, our interst in possums has blossomed!

My new book, Sweet Music on Moonlight Ridge, available from Amazon and Barnes & Noble, is Southern fiction, and has lots of possumisms, both fact and fiction, from my family history.

I'm just delighted to meet you here, and think your devotion to PITA and the other animals is wonderful.

Ramey ChannellRamey Channellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03340802949382192661noreply@blogger.com
