We even have 'possums here in Oregon, but they're not counted as natives, which means that a person could own one as a pet, although I have no idea why anyone would want to because they would have to be kept in a cage so as not to demolish the house. As for copperheads, they are beautiful, shy, and not terribly poisonous.
