GLASS STORAGE DISHES

This post is especially for a friend to show her some OLD glass refrigerator storage containers. G-ma used to keep relish in them, sliced tomatoes, or cranberry sauce. I currently use one of the small ones for a butter dish. The small ones are 4 inches to a side and 3 inches tall. The largest one is 9 inches.

I had to use a darker setting to get the patterns to show up. They are among my treasures. I just wish I had a daughter or granddaughter to pass them on to who would love than as I do. And you can say what you will about tupperware and plastic dishes, but these keep things real fresh longer than plastic and will never taste like plastic. You can see the glass is heavy and thick. And they don’t look bad as serving dishes on the table.

I have seen these.. but don't remember ever having any. Yours are really nice.

You are so right about glass being better than plastic. We switched to the Pyrex glass storage containers, but your are so much prettier and hold such memories too.

It's hard to love plastic, but it is lighter and doesn't freeze my hands (the latter being a big deal with Raynauds). Even so, your containers would be one of my cherished possessions too.
