8.58 INCHES OF RAIN IN AN HOUR AND A HALF

Sharing a few pictures (if blogger will allow it) of the 8 1/2 inches of rain we got on July 1st. Please note, these pictures were taken in the middle of the storm in the MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON!
The water on the carport is only a few inches deep but eventually went up over my ankles. Note the water on the wheels of the wagon. Also note the waves as the water rolls in from the street and UP the driveway, a distance of about 50 feet.

Note the COCORAHS rain gauge in the background. The water has come up and onto the carport, about 3 inches deep. The garden ties in the back are under 6 inches of water at this point... and remember, this is around 3 in the afternoon. The Adirondacks on the patio sit on 4x4s to keep them dry. The 4x4s are underwater.

That would sure wig me out. My own area is relatively free from such things, but I worry a lot about the massive earthquake that we're long overdue to have.

We heard about that deluge and read about the Rte 13 closures too. Too much rain all at once is never a good thing for plants or people.

This has been such a strange year weather-wise. So glad it wasn't worse. Did the 4 footers fare ok?

I hope things are better now.

I hope this finds you and yours doing well. May we display your header on our new site directory? As it is now, the site title (linked back to your home page) is listed, and we think displaying the header will attract more attention. In any event, we hope you will come by and see what is going on at SiteHoundSniffs.com.
