TWO EGGS (over easy!)

A number of you have asked if we have any eagles this year... the answer is yes, in fact, quite a few it seems. At Blackwater, we even have 2 eggs... saw the Mama roll them over, real easy this morning. Unfortunately, I canNOT get the picture to post in blogger - but if you really want a copy, let me know. I have it in my email. Go figure.
OR, you can visit and keep track of them yourself!
Happy birding!

There's also a live, streaming eagle cam at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. You can access it via the WVEC web page devoted to the eagle cam and garden at:

There’s controversy brewing at the Norfolk Eagle Cam in Virginia. Apparently the eagles have been ruled an airport hazard, and authorities are planning to address the situation, but we’re not sure yet what that means except the likely removal of the Norfolk Eagle Cam nest. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries has had to withdraw their partnership with the Eagle Cam project because it’s now a conflict of interest for them. More information about the airport situation can be found on the site. Also stay tuned to the Norfolk Botanical Garden blog for the latest information.

Oh my. I watched the Decorah Eagle cam last spring. It was far better than anything I've see on commercial TV in a long time. :)
